Regardless of what you have experienced, there is hope for healing. Read these pages and know you are not alone. If you have experienced traumatic events, it is up to you to seek and find healing. The government can't and won't help. Children's only hope in change is though action by survivors.
Honestly document the challenges you face on the Child Abuse History form at the left. Recall as many disturbing life altering events. Be sure not to forget your earlier years, from birth through 13 years old. It may take you several attempts over weeks or months. Don't rush. Let your mind wrap around the memories at its own pace.
In order to heal, you need to examine exactly what happened to you. Be open. Be honest. If you feel guilt or shame that is a normal feeling. Let it wash over you then move on. In time you will learn that as a child you are not responsible for actions of others.
It is up to you to find your own internal spark and take steps to meet this challenge, then rise above it. Explore the many options to release anger and rage in a positive manner.
- Become a spokesperson and speak out against child violence of all types.
- Write a draft law and offer your experience as a solution to the problem. Contact your representative and senator.
- Seek out a support group

There is risk. Family members may resent you for revealing a private family matter. They may say you lie in order to protect their community standing. You may be shunned or harmed or smeared. You may get kicked out of the home. These are possibilities for all activists against child abuse, child brutality and child torture.
