Physical Neglect is all too common, merely by ignoring the basic needs of a small child.
Failure to Thrive is caused when a parent does not interact with the child, infants in particular, by holding, cuddling, cooing and showing affection to their baby. Mental development slows to a standstill in babies who are ignored, often those found in meth labs or where the parents are chronic drug addicts.
